Coach Broome leads Vikings to the playoffs in his first full season back
Warren Central High School Baseball Coach Randy Broome led the Vikings to the playoffs in his first full season back as head coach.
Although the Vikings struggled to find their footing at the beginning of the season, they managed to come up with some key district wins over Murrah and Clinton that helped them advance to the postseason under Broome’s leadership.
The Vikings’ season came to an end during the first round playoff series in an 11-1 loss against Tupelo.
Broome took over the program in the summer of 2019 after former head coach Connor Douglas left. He was also the head coach in the early 2000s before stepping down to pursue an administrative role.
Broome’s first season back, which was the 2019-2020 school year, was interrupted by COVID-19 and the season was eventually canceled.
Now that Broome is back and in full effect, he is preparing to return the Vikings to their former glory to again compete with some of the best teams in the state.
Warren Central is lucky to have the experienced and dedicated coach that Broome has proven to be; always willing to do what it takes to help his students and athletes succeed.
