Vicksburg High School girl’s basketball team defeated Murrah 62-39 to keep their winning streak alive.
The Missy Gators came out scoring easy and quickly took a 19-8 lead shortly after Ja’Na Colenburg nailed a three pointer before the end of the first quarter.
VHS popped off the second quarter with another three by Colenburg but things eventually slowed down as they had a problem getting to the basket. They picked up the pace before halftime when Layla Carter and Cynia Johnson were able to put up some easy buckets to go up 29-13 at halftime.
The third quarter all belonged to the Missy Gators as they put much defensive pressure on the Lady Mustangs.
Colenburg led the Missy Gators with 27 points with nine three pointers.
By the fourth quarter, VHS had a 50-22 lead as they kept things moving along to win their seventh game in a row under head coach Troy Stewart.See a typo? Report it here.
