Collins Man Charged in Hit & Run Death

VICKSBURG, Miss. – 27 year-old Roger Dale Curtis has been arrested by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation in connection with the Sunday morning hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a Moselle man. Curtis is currently being held in the Warren County Jail and has been charged with felony hit and run and leaving the scene of an accident. According to authorities, additional charges may also be filed. Curtis is currently awaiting arraignment where his bond will either be set or denied. It has been reported that Curtis tried to sell the vehicle, a pick-up truck, he was driving at the time of the accident to a salvage dealer. Dudley Scrimpshire’s car had broken down on I-20. He began walking towards the Bovina exit when he was struck by a vehicle, allegedly driven by Curtis. Scrimpshire’s injured body was discovered at about 7:20 a.m. on Sunday morning. Scrimpshire was first transported to River Region Medical Center and then airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center. He succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
