Community meeting set to hear comments on Brownfield Grant application proposal

The Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen is hosting a community meeting on Nov. 3 to hear from the community on the Brownfield Grant application proposal to clean the U.S. Rubber Reclaiming facility located at 2000 Rubber Way.

The Brownfield Programis a multifaceted program that facilitates the re-use of contaminated properties to viable projects that can bring economic development or provide quality of life improvements to the community.” The grant would provide Vicksburg between $750,000 – $850,000 if approved.

The grant does not require the City of Vicksburg to match funds.

The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. in the Robert M. Walker Building as part of the grant requirements.
