Confidence increasing for overnight weather event Friday night into Saturday

The National Weather Service and the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency are both issuing statements that confidence is increasing that we will experience a weather issue Friday night into Saturday morning.
Currently, forecast models indicate that 60 to 70 mile per hour winds are possible associated with 1 to 3 inches of rain. There is also an elevated risk for tornados and hail damage.
We encourage you to make preparations now for this event. As this very well could be an overnight event, we implore you to have multiple means of receiving weather notifications. We will bring you additional information as we move closer to the weekend.
