Corean Gardner, 1927-2021

Corean Gardner age 94, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 in the home of her daughter after a lengthy illness. She was born February 1, 1927 to John H. and Bertha Mae Simpson. She was a devoted housewife and mother. Her family was her treasure and she guarded it with love and prayer. She attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Tallula, Miss.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 29, 2021 at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork, Miss. with Pastor Elizabeth Franklin and Pastor James H. Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the County Line Cemetery in Glen Allan, MS.

She is survived by three sons: Richard (Nancy) Gardner of Lake Village, Ark., Tommy (Valerie) Gardner of Monroe, La., and John (Wilda) Gardner of Booneville, MS;  and one daughter: Sue (Lin) Shirley of Randolph, MS. Eight grandchildren: Karen Reynolds, Kim May, Kristi Wade, Justin and William Shirley, Julie Gardner, Amanda South, and Megan Corrent; and eleven great-grandchildren: Blake Reynolds, Nathan and Nicholas Wade, Lindsey Claire and Ryan Shirley, Noble and Adrianna Shirley, Colton and Harlee Shirley, Kenny Beal and Ava Gardner, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, thirteen siblings, her husband: Ulan Gardner of Cary, MS. and one grandson: Lindsey Dee Shirley, Jr. of Pontotoc.

Pallbearers will be great-grandsons Blake Reynolds, Nathan and Nicholas Wade, Noble and Ryan Shirley, and Kenny Beal. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Justin and William Shirley and great-grandson Colton Shirley.

Visitation will be Friday, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork, Miss.
