County approves budget; sells Ceres spec building

A 10.92 mil property tax increase was approved this morning by the Warren County Board of Supervisors. That will translate into an additional “$109 per $100,000 in assessed value per property” according to County Manager John Smith.
Supervisors presented its fiscal year 2020 budget and then invited the public to comment. The budget total is $36.8 million. No one from the public commented, nor does it appear anyone other than those with business before the county was in attendance.
In other county business, the cost of replacing the engine on the King’s Island Ferry was raised from $35,000 to $46,000.
The Ceres Tech building has sold to Flowers Warehouse, LLC. Details of that sale are not yet available. The “spec building” was constructed in the 1990s and has remained vacant since then.
