County firefighters battling early morning blaze

Just after 5 a.m., Warren County Fire Fighters were dispatched to 529 Culkin Road for a structure fire.

Currently, the Sheriff’s Department is blocking the roadway at Culkin and Beechwood Roads. Culkin Engines 204 and 209  and Bovina firefighters are on scene.

The residents safely evacuated the structures prior to the firefighters’ arrival.

Bovina has apparatus on standby if needed.

Culkin Assistant Chief Bobby Rufus has logged the fire under control as of 5:23 a.m. Both campers sustained extensive damage.

Firefighters will remain on the scene for the time being to extinguish hot spots and prevent a rekindling of the blaze.
