Two arrests have been made in the July 9 homicide of Gary Michael “Cowboy” McAlpin on Jeff Davis Road.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said sheriff’s investigators arrested Leslie Ann Harrison, 37, July 29, and charged her with accessory before the fact of murder. She was arraigned in front of Justice Court Judge Edwin Woods who set her bond at $500,000.

July 31, investigators arrested Calvin Randall Harrison, 44, and charged him with murder. Special County Court Judge John Price denied Harrison bail Monday morning.

A deputy was flagged down in the 6600 block of Jeff Davis Road July 9 and reported a shooting. McAlpin was found deceased inside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds.

On July 30, investigators recovered a .22-caliber rifle from a creek bank several miles from the scene of the crime. The rifle is believed to be the weapon used in this incident and has been sent for ballistic testing.

Sheriff Pace said there is some relationship between the victim and the two suspects but declined further comment citing an ongoing investigation. He did say however that the Harrison’s have no permanent address but last lived in Yazoo County.
