A Mississippi couple, wed in 2019, always wanted to have a big family. This year they are getting their wish and expecting quintuplets.

Shawn and Haylee Ladner had a tough time at first, suffering two miscarriages. Eventually, they decided to go another route and use intrauterine insemination (IUI) to try to get pregnant.

“I always wanted a big family,” Haylee told WDAM. “I always wanted at least four kids.”

Haylee and Shawn soon found themselves to be expected parents. Only, not to one child but five.

Shawn said he asked for them to be counted again. After a couple of recounts, it was verified the couple was expecting quintuplets.

“I felt that I would not even be able to have one or I would be lucky to even have one,” said Haylee.

“A lot of Barbies, a lot of Barbie dream houses, ” Shawn said. “I am going to have a whole real estate company of Barbie dreamhouses in my house.”

Haylee is currently 20 weeks pregnant. She works as a teacher at Oak Grove Middle School. The couple is expecting four girls and one boy.
