Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott tests positive for COVID-19

Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the NFL Network.
Elliot is one of the few NFL players who have contracted the virus. The NFL has still not allowed players to return to their facilities. The NFL chief medical officer Allen Sills confirmed last month that the league is still working on ways to handle the virus.
“We fully well expect that we will have positive cases that arise,” Sills said during a conference call in May. “Because we think that this disease will remain endemic in society, it shouldn’t be a surprise that new positive cases arise. Our challenge is to identify them as quickly as possible and prevent spread to any other participants. We’re working very diligently on that, and we’ll have some detailed plans at a later time.”
Elliott has been the lead rusher for the Cowboys over the last few years, and he finished with 1,357 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns last season. He began playing for the Cowboys in 2016, and he has been selected to play in three Pro Bowls.
