Crash claims the lives of two high school football players

Two Mississippi High School football players died on Monday morning in a wreck in Madison County.

Madison County Coroner Alex Breeland reported that at around 4 a.m. on Monday, the two teens were in a sport utility vehicle and lost control, flipped the vehicle and collided with a tree.

The two deceased teenagers are 17-year-old Germantown High School student Tyrese Hoskin and 15-year-old Madison Central student Armond Littleton.

Madison Central School District released a statement concerning the tragic death of their two students.

“It is with great sadness that the Madison County Schools family mourns the tragic loss of two students. Our hearts go out to the families and friends of Tyrese Hoskin and Armond Littleton and the communities of Germantown High School and Madison Central High School. The counseling staff at both schools and throughout the district are on hand to support students during this difficult time.”

A candlelight vigil was held on Tuesday at Germantown High School for the two student-athletes.

A viewing is scheduled at Peoples Funeral Home in Canton on Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. at Pine Lake Baptist Church at 223 Old Jackson Rd, Madison, MS.

The crash is under investigation.
