Crash under investigation

Vicksburg police are investigating a single vehicle crash at Bowman and Washington streets.

An occupant of the vehicle is being transported to Merit Health River Region by Vicksburg Fire Medic 50. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Engine 6 is also on scene rendering aid.

One person left the scene following the crash, according to a witness. He is being described as a white male wearing a purple shirt and light colored trousers.

An Entergy crew is on the way to assess the damage to the utility pole hit by the vehicle.
