Crear honored by the dedication ceremony of the Brigadier General Robert Crear Atrium
Vicksburg native Brigadier General Robert Crear was honored by Jackson State University with the dedication ceremony of the Brigadier General Robert Crear Atrium.
Crear retired in May 2008 after serving worldwide, commanding soldiers and civilians alike. He took on high level leadership roles within the US Army Corps of Engineers and served as a military assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works at the Pentagon. His last assignment had him serving as president of the Mississippi River Commission and played a vital role in managing the resources program for the Mississippi River Valley.
The dedication ceremony was made possible by John Nau, president and CEO of Silver Eagle Distributors, L.P., who contributed $1 million which will be used for scholarships for students majoring in STEM fields, including those in the ROTC program.
