Lt Johnnie Edwards with the Vicksburg Police Department has reported the following crimes over the weekend:

  • On Friday, July 26th at 1:23 p.m. a call came in that shots had been fired in the area of Bowman and Lydia. When officers responded there was no evidence of shots being fired in the area.
  • On Friday, July 26th at 9:35 p.m. an auto burglary was reported at the Mississippi BBQ Company, 717 Grove Street. The victim reported that their 2003 Honda Civic had been gone through for the second time in as many days. Someone took $50 on the 25th and then on the 26th took $5 in change.  The vehicle was unsecured.
  • July 27 at 8:15 a.m. officers responded to the 1300 block of Chambers in reference to an auto burglary. A 2011 Toyota Camry had $200 in cash, a debit card and some Apple Air Pods stolen.
  • July 27 at 12:29 p.m. an auto burglary was reported in 1800 block of Vicklan Drive. The vehicle was unlocked. A 2009 Missan Maxima was missing a DKNY purse with assorted contents. The purse was later found down the street by a jogger.
  • July 27 at 1:40 p.m. a report of an auto burglarized in the 1400 block of Parkway Drive. A 2005 Toyota Corolla was missing a blue wallet containing credit cards and a driver’s license. That vehicle may also have been unlocked since there were no signs of forced entry.
  • July 27th at 3:07 p.m. an auto burglary was reported in the 700 block of Locust Street. The unsecured vehicle was a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The thieves took a Michale Kors wallet, an S9 cell phone, some credit cards, a social security card and a driver’s license.
