Culkin Water District addresses water line break in Warren County
The maintenance field crew of the Culkin Water District is working tirelessly to address a water line break and restore water services. As a result of this break, the water system lost pressure, increasing the risk of potential contaminants entering the system.
Consequently, once the water supply is restored, a boil water advisory will be issued for the residents in the following Warren County locations:
Abraham Drive
Boykin Drive
Highway 27 (from 580 to 1798)
Paxton Road (from 6501 to 6889)
This boil water advisory is a precautionary measure. Whenever there’s a drop in water pressure, the possibility of contaminants entering the system exists. Until the water undergoes testing and is declared safe, it’s considered contaminated. As the pressure is restored for the affected customers, water samples will be collected and tested.
Culkin Water District recommends that residents under the advisory boil their water vigorously for at least 2 minutes before consuming or using it for cooking. Alternatively, they can also use a different water source for drinking and cooking needs.
