VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) – District Attorney Ricky Smith has confirmed he will seek to revoke the bond of accused arsonist David Morgan.

Morgan was arrested on Wednesday for a vehicle fire at the Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon. Warren County Sheriff’s deputies arrest Morgan after an investigation by Investigator Sam Winchester and Kayla Riggs with the State Fire Marshal’s office. Assisting in the arson investigation was 911 Director Shane Garrard and Warren County Fire Boss, Jerry Briggs.

Morgan was in Justice Court this morning where a $150,000 bond was issued for the most recent fire. He was already on a felony bond for a camper fire at 4111 Washington Street, behind Riverside Construction on June 15.

DA Smith reported, “Now that he has been to Justice Court, it is our standard procedure to revoke felony bonds for individuals who commit a felony while on a felony bond.”

Morgan will be held in the Warren County Jail until his trial date is set.

The Vicksburg Daily News will update this story as any information becomes available.
