Students at Dana Road Elementary School were treated to a visit from area officials on Wednesday who participated in Read Across America, a year-round program which focuses on “motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources that are about everyone, for everyone.”

Participants at Dana Road included Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, Vicksburg Police Deputy Chief Troy Kimble, Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones, Vicksburg Police Deputy Chief Mike Bryant, Vicksburg Fire Chief Craig Danczyk, WLBT Meteorologist Branden Walker, among others.

On Tuesday, firefighters visited Agape Montessori as part of the Read Across America initiative. The event seemed to be a diverting, entertaining and educational experience for the children.
