Dangerous suspect alert is for Bolivar County

The alert that was sent out from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation does not apply to Vicksburg and Warren County.

At 9:52 a.m. the alert was sent out to the emergency alert system stating:

The alert sent out by MBI.

Local authorities have confirmed that the alert has nothing to do with Vicksburg.

The suspect, Stanley Self, Jr is wanted in connection to an officer-involved shooting in Mound Bayou, MS in Bolivar County that occurred on May 2, 2023, at approximately 7:05 a.m.

Stanley Self Jr. is described as a black male 24 years of age, five feet and nine inches tall, weighing 165 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen at Issac Street and South Street on May 2, 2023, at approximately 7:05 a.m., wearing khaki pants and a white t-shirt.
