Darius Erving now back in custody

Holmes County Sheriff Willie March announced the capture of Darius Erving, the man who escaped from a hospital Saturday morning.

Erving’s family brought him to the Holmes County Jail around 10 a.m. Sunday morning.

Erving complained to deputies that he was having trouble breathing, so while in custody he was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Lexington, where he escaped around 10 a.m. Saturday.

Erving is one of the two suspects being held for the shooting death of an Ocean Springs man who was killed while trying to purchase a four-wheeler advertised online.
