David Bruce Wamsley, 81, entered into heaven on July 16, 2023. He passed away at his home in Vicksburg, Mississippi surrounded by loved ones after an 8 month battle with cancer, which he fought with strength and grace.

David was born in Huntington County, Indiana to Max L. and Mary A. Wamsley. He grew up with his brother Paul and sister Maridonna. He worked summers with his father doing construction before going to Purdue University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was able to design, build and fix just about anything and was well known for helping others with his considerable talents. Upon graduation he went to work for General Motors where he held various positions for 38 years.

He married his wife Betty J. Hiatt in 1964, who survives him. He was a man of faith and considered his family his greatest achievement, impacting the lives of not only his family but many others as a Little League baseball coach, church elder, and Sunday School teacher. He is also survived by his daughter Janna Weaver and husband Darak, son Ty Wamsley and wife Lisa, and daughter Gina Ferrari and husband Brian, as well as grandchildren Kayla Lee and husband Matthew, Hayley Stephenson and husband Jacob, Bethany Contreras and husband Chris, Max Wamsley and wife Hannah, Mia Wamsley, Brock Ferrari and wife Lauren, and Nicholas Wright. He is also survived by great grandson D.J. Stephenson and sister Maridonna Wamsley. He was preceded in death by parents Max and Mary Wamsley and brother Paul Wamsley.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank St Joseph Hospice for their loving care. Memorials can be made to St Joseph Hospice.
