A deer collided with a police car on 61 South.

At about 9:20 p.m., Officer Michael Battle was patrolling 61 South near Tomato Place when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. “There was a truck next to me blocking my view, but I immediately thought it was a deer. Then this one hit me. I didn’t see this one at all.”

The good-sized deer, at least an 8-pointer, made contact with the center of the police car causing significant damage to the vehicle. The deer did not survive the impact.

Office Battle was not hurt and proudly took a photo with the deer.

A couple of weeks ago a deer attempted to run over Grandma and Aria. Another deer broke into a local business.
