Derek Chauvin Guilty on all counts in George Floyd trial

The 7 women and 5 men on the jury in the trial of Derek Chauvin have found him Guilty on all counts.
Chauvin was charged with third-degree murder, 25 years maximum, second-degree manslaughter, 10 years maximum, second-degree murder, 40 years, specifically unintentional second-degree murder while attempting to commit felony assault. He was found guilty on all three counts.
The 3-week long trial was an emotional ride for many as they relived the events of May 25, 2020. The well-documented event turned into a rallying point for citizens struggling with police brutality and racial inequality in America.
Floyd’s death sparked protests nationwide, including in Vicksburg. A peaceful protest was held on June 5, 2020. Hundreds attended the peaceful protest that included passionate speeches by community leaders.
Sentencing for Chauvin will be in eight weeks.
