Diane and Earl Wallace have sold Sunset View Resort to Kevin and Julie Ford.

The Wallace’s have owned the property since 1997, wasn’t nothing but a bunch of woods,” Earl said of the property when they first purchased it. Since then the Wallace’s have improved the lot to include 39 RV slots with 30 and 50-amp access. There are also mobile homes and a large homesite with four adjacent motel rooms.

“Now we can hopefully travel, it doesn’t matter where,” said Wallace. “We’ve done a lot of traveling. We’ve been to 49 of 50 states, and we’ve been to Hawaii four times.” Wallace listed Alaska as the only state they haven’t visited. Wallace served on the Eagle Lake Fire Department since he moved up there in 1995, serving most of those years as the chief. Diane and Earl said, “We’ve enjoyed our time up there and we’ve enjoyed the people. We’re grateful to everyone up there. We’ve made some good friends and they are good neighbors. There’s a lot of good people at Eagle Lake.”

Wallace made sure to offer his thanks to Tommy Parker for managing the property the last year or so. “He kept it together for us and helped us make the sale, we can’t thank him enough.”

Kevin Ford has this to say, “We have tremendous respect for Earl and Diane. We look forward to continuing our growth journey with this purchase. I’m also excited to have a vested interest in the Eagle Lake community.”

Julie Ford explained their plans for the property, “We’re going to convert the house into an Airbnb that sleeps 16. The view from the house, the dock, the serenity. Unless you’ve been there it is hard to describe how beautiful and serene. It is perfect for large get-togethers, family reunions, and weddings. We are so happy for Earl and Diane and beyond excited at what the future holds for Sunset View Resort.”

“We wish Kevin and Julie the best wishes on their new adventure,” concluded Earl Wallace.
