Disaster averted after elderly man finds himself driving in wrong direction

An elderly man was rescued from a very hazardous situation after he found himself heading in the wrong direction.

At around 3:40 p.m., a yellow Ford SUV entered Interstate 20 from Indiana Avenue going the wrong way, heading westbound in the eastbound lane.

Someone tried to stop the driver near the end of the ramp near the interstate. In the vehicle was in elderly man who was confused on where he was.

The vehicle was thought to have been stopped, however the man continued on down the ramp. Finally, someone in a Two Men and a Truck moving company were able to stop the man with their large truck.

Bobby Powell was one of the people in that truck who exited the vehicle and was able to turn the man around and drive him to the gas station to wait for police.
