Disturbing video update: The victim is not missing

A video allegedly showing a woman being physically and verbally assaulted is circulating in Warren County. At last check the video had been viewed over 327,000 times.

The apparent victim appears in the videos to be in a state of diminished capacity or extreme fear. There have been a slew of rumors flying around on this story, including that the victim is missing. Law enforcement has assured the Vicksburg Daily News that the woman in the video is not missing.

The Vicksburg Daily News has reached out to local law enforcement regarding the current status of the people involved in the viral video. Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace’s office has released the following statement online:

“The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is aware of the video that has surfaced and is actively investigating the case. We respectfully request anyone sharing this video to remove it out of respect for the victim.”

We spoke with Pace who said, “We are actively investigating the video for content and origin.”

“This is an on-going investigation that we are taking very seriously,” said District Attorney Ricky Smith. “It is disturbing. We are taking every step we can to get to the bottom of it.”
