Doris Parker Morris, 1952 – 2023

Doris Parker Morris, a retired homemaker, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Richardson Medical Center in Rayville, Louisiana, after lengthy illness at the age of 70.

Doris was born on December 26, 1952, in Newellton, Louisiana, to Rachel Erskin and Gettie Mize Parker. She was a lifelong resident of Tensas Parish. She was a member of Maryland Baptist Church in St. Joseph, Louisiana.

Doris is preceded in death by her father, Rachel “Bud” Parker, and her mother, Gettie Mize Parker.

Doris is survived by her husband of 50 years, Albert Earl Morris of Newellton, Louisiana; one daughter, Dana Sills (Jim) of St. Joseph, Louisiana, and one grandson, Jimmy Sills of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Frances Dunn of Port Vincent, Louisiana; her brother, Donald Parker (Jannell) of Mandeville, Louisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Graveside services for Mrs. Doris Parker Morris will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, Louisiana, with Sheriff Rickey Jones officiating under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana.
