Dorothy Roberts Hawkins, 1939 – 2022

Dorothy Roberts Hawkins passed away on August 9, 2022, at the age of 83.

Dorothy was born on August 8, 1939, the daughter of the late Bernice and Annie Louise Roberts. She worked at South Park and Warrenton Elementary Schools and also Belmont Gardens. She was an avid runner and an excellent cook.

She was preceded in death by daughter Cindy Hardy, and sisters Katherine Griffith, Clara Bell Reynolds and her identical twin, Doris Hawkins.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Richard Drew Hawkins, daughters Kristy Ehrgott and Sylvia Willey, sisters Peggy Cosper (Joe), Brenda Kernstock (Tim) and brother Bernice Roberts, Jr. (Johnnie), grandchildren Brett Willey, Angela Hardy Carter (Jeremy), Justin Ehrgott, and Jaleigh Ehrgott, and great-grandchildren Kahlan Carter, Brystol Carter, Able Carter and Mavis Carter. Her faithful companion, Poppy, never left her side.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating the service. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Lorena Baptist Church in Forest, MS.

Pallbearers will be Jay Ehrgott, Justin Ehrgott, Brett Willey, Greg Willey, Steve Capdepond, and Thomas Cox.
