Double drowning reported in Claiborne County

Claiborne County authorities are on the scene of a reported double drowning at The Ark, which is about four miles south of the Port Gibson city limits off U.S. Highway 61.

Claiborne County officials recovered both victims. Claiborne County Coroner J.W. Mallett has been summoned to the scene.

Warren County officials including Fire Coordinator Jerry Briggs are on scene to assist.

Vicksburg Fire Chief Craig Danczyk along with a three person dive team were en route but were canceled by Claiborne County authorities.
