Dr. Bobby Banks resigns from VWSD, embarks on new opportunity out of state

Dr. Bobby Banks, the Special Projects Coordinator for Vicksburg-Warren School District announced his resignation, effective Friday, July 14, 2023.

Dr. Banks has accepted an outstanding out-of-state opportunity that aligns with his personal and professional aspirations. Throughout his tenure at VWSD, Dr. Banks has been a pivotal figure, overseeing numerous critical initiatives that have had a profound impact on the lives of students and their families. From leading the district’s Professional School Counselors team to spearheading transformative programs like Tiger and Fresh Start Academies Alternative Schools, the Juvenile Detention Center, Dropout Prevention, several initiatives with the Grade Results platform, and The Adult Diploma Program, Dr. Banks has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development.

In a heartfelt letter addressed to the VWSD administration, Dr. Banks expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support and trust he has received from the district’s faculty, staff, students, families and community members. He described his time at VWSD as a privilege, highlighting the incredible experiences and personal growth he has encountered during his tenure.

Dr. Banks emphasized the profound relationships he has formed with students, families, faculty, and staff, extending beyond professional connections to shared experiences, laughter, tears, and countless moments of growth.
