Crash on Interstate 20 left driver entrapped within vehicle

At around 4:45 p.m. a crash was reported near mile marker 8 on Interstate 20 eastbound.

A white Lincoln left the roadway and crossed the median, crashing into the brush alongside the roadway.

The driver was reported to have been injured and entrapped within the vehicle but appears to have escaped significant injury.

Two first responders managed to secure the driver and assist her up the slippery hillside.

A small “fender bender” occurred on the westbound side involving a rescue vehicle responding to the call. No injuries were reported from this incident.

Traffic on the eastbound side is backed up. Please plan for delays or plan an alternate route.
