Dustin Diamond, 44, dies of lung cancer

Numerous media outlets have reported that former “Saved by the Bell” star Dustin Diamond has lost his battle with lung cancer at the age of 44.

Diamond only recently disclosed his bleak prognosis.

Diamond was a teen actor who achieved fame through the television series which lasted four years along with a subsequent spin off “Saved by the Bell, the College Years”.

I encountered Dustin Diamond through the professional wrestling business around Memphis in the mid-to-late nineties. He wanted to try his hand at the industry and took it quite seriously. He was fairly good considering his limitations athletically.

He went on to appear in celebrity boxing and other reality-type television shows.
