  • Hwy 465 closes at 46.5 feet and is now closed
  • Hwy 61 North (near Redwood) could be affected around 11-13 May
  • Backwater Levee Road will be closed at 53.0 feet and is overtopped when the river gets approximately 56 to 56.5 feet.
  • Normal level for Eagle Lake is 76.9 feet. Following the opening of the Muddy Bayou Structure gates, Eagle Lake began to fill and the Lake has risen to 82.7 feet (as of 5/6/2011). Saturday’s expected level at Eagle Lake is 84.2 feet. Eagle Lake is expected to reach the 90 foot elevation on 12 May 2011 and is expected to be at this temporary level until late June. Mississippi DOT crews have closed Highway 465 in Warren County and Issaquena County due to high flood waters. Flooding will affect Highway 465 beginning at U.S. Highway 61 and ending at the levee. The highway will remain closed until further notice. Clearing within the berm area at Buck Chute is mostly complete, the sand has been installed and a clay cap will be installed on top of the sand. These improvements are expected to be completed on early Saturday and this is being done to control seepage pressures on the land-side of the levee. Erosion control measures are being placed along the Backwater Levee from the Steele Bayou structure to the Mainline Levee. The Corps and the Mississippi Levee Board monitor water levels and patrol levees 24 hours a day.]]]]> ]]>
