Eagle Lake residents near Sullivan Cove and Ramsey Lane awoke to discover their mailboxes shattered along the side of the roadway.

The bank of mailboxes was on a 4-inch metal beam that was embedded a couple of feet into the ground. Tire tracks indicate that a vehicle left the roadway sometime over night and fled the scene. “They had to be going hard to make this much damage,” said Eagle Lake resident Chuck Fisher.

A trail of engine fluids from the scene led to a damaged vehicle that was parked near the mailbox carnage. Warren County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the event.
