Eagles to compete at NJCAA Outdoor Finals Saturday

Hinds Community College track and field will compete at the National Junior College Athletic Association Outdoor Meet finals Saturday after an impressive showing the first two days.
The events that the Eagles will compete in tomorrow include the women’s 4×100-meter relay, women’s 4×400-meter relay, women’s 100-meter hurdles (Jerricka Ambus; 3rd fastest time), women’s 100-meter dash (Diandrenique Gaines; 4th fastest time), men’s 200-meter dash (Dapriest Hogans; fastest qualifier), men’s 400-meter hurdles (Alfonso Hale) and women’s 400-meter hurdles (JodyAnn Dixon).
The Eagles also had two athletes finish their outdoor season Friday. Breanna Brown-Marshall and Kayla Jemison both completed their season by competing in the women’s high jump. Brown-Marshall, the defending women’s high jump national champion, finished as the national runner-up at the 2022 meet. Jemison closed out her freshman season by placing sixth in the nation.
Brown-Marshall and Jemison both join Aaron Fortenberry and DeAundre Ward, who closed out their 2022 seasons with a top-ten finish and an All-American honor.
