Edith Green Hubbell passed away on May 20, 2021, at Heritage House Nursing Center.

Edith was born on April 28, 1930, in Rison, Arkansas.  She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Star City, Arkansas.  After the death of her husband, Edith moved from Star City to Vicksburg.

Edith loved gardening and always had beautiful flowers and an abundant vegetable garden.  As an avid reader, she encouraged others to read and learn.  when she wasn’t in the garden or reading, she was busy quilting.  Over the years, she made many quilts by hand, giving them to her family.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, James Alex Hubbell; parents George C. and Hester Jones Green; siblings Alfred Green, Hollis Green, Lavonne Green Henthorne, Myrtis Green King, Cecilia Green Burnett; and daughter Brenda Cravens Burton.

She is survived by her daughter Betty J. “Jeanie” McDonald (David); grandchildren Brian McDonald (Christie) of Friendswood, TX and Allison McDonald Brewer (David) of Vicksburg, MS; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn McDonald, Abigail McDonald and Megan McDonald of Texas; Andrew Brewer and Matthew Brewer of Vicksburg.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2021, with Dr. Matt Buckles officiating the service.

Pallbearers will be Brian McDonald, David McDonald, David Brewer, Matthew Brewer and Andrew Brewer.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kaitlyn McDonald, Abigail McDonald and Megan McDonald.
