Edward Marvin Parks, 1952-2023

Edward Marvin Parks, known as Ed Parks, age 70, passed away on September 19, 2023.

He was born on October 25, 1952, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was the son of Marvin and Lois Jane Parks. He graduated from H V Cooper High School. After many years of living and working outside the state he returned to Mississippi to live in Utica. He grew up in the First Christian Church in Vicksburg. After returning to Mississippi, he joined the Utica Christian Church where he was an active member and served on the church board.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Erin Parks Surprenant (Mike) from Boston, MA and his son, Taylor Coleman Parks (Katherine Rentas) from Fernandine Beach, FL. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie Wood (David) from Tupelo and Joyce Best (Tony) from Raymond, his nephews, John David Wood (Rachel) from Fulton and Rob Best (Megan Boykin) from Raymond and two great nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on October 17, 2023, at the Utica Chrisitan Church. Time to be announced.

Memorials may be made to the Utica Christian Church.
