Eight-year-old Owen Flowers killed a big deer last Sunday on a hunting trip with his dad, Rush Flowers.

The deer was an eight-point, 200 pound buck. Its rack measured 19.5 inches wide.

Flowers is a third grader at Bowmar Elementary where he is known for being an outstanding student. He killed the buck in Hermanville, Mississippi, marking his first kill of the year.

In his free time, Flowers not only enjoys hunting, but he’s also a big sports fan. He played football with the undefeated Golden Eagles YMCA flag football team (6-0) that won the championship two weeks ago.

Flowers is the son of Vicksburg residents Rush and Dawn Flowers.
