Electrical fire hits Triumph Church

An electrical fire hit Triumph Church around 6:20 p.m. on Sunday.
Numerous calls to 911 reported smoke was filling up Triumph Church. Pastor Mike Fields was on hand and was successfully able to get everyone out of the building. “The lights flickered and then they went out. Smoke started to fill up the building,” said Pastor Fields.
Warren County Firefighter Cedric Martin was one of the first on the scene and was directed to the ladies restroom on the back side of the 25-year-old building.
Numerous other firefighters arrived including Jeff Riggs, FireBoss Jerry Briggs, firefighters from Bovina, and the Incident Commander, Lee Williams.
Engine 204 from Culkin was the only apparatus needed.
“The building was very smokey. We went in and observed an exhaust fan, it was in the women’s bathroom, it had caught on fire. When they cut the power that cut the fire off,” explained Public Information Officer Jeff Riggs in a Live Report with the Vicksburg Daily News.
The exhaust fan was removed and the building was ventilated. The church will continue to serve the public with no interruption in services.
