Erosion that seems to be undermining the roadbed has forced the closure of North Frontage Road between Washington Street and Confederate Avenue/Iowa Avenue in Vicksburg.

The erosion is occurring just west of the railroad crossing on North Frontage, where the embankment drops off steeply on the north side.
