Evelyn Lucille Sanderford, 1931 – 2023

Evelyn Lucille Sanderford passed away on July 6, 2023. She was 92 years old. She was born in Cary, MS on May 3, 1931. She was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church. She loved church, working in her yard and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Hester Pearl Warnock; spouses, Charles L. Tilghman and Johnnie Sanderford; grandsons, John Charles Tilghman and Kel Huff; brothers, Albert Warnock, Willie Warnock, Ernest Warnock; sisters, Elizabeth Wells, Mytrea Gordon, Mary Helen Webster.

She is survived by sons, David Tilghman (Theresa) and Charles Ray Tilghman (Kathy); daughters, Mary Evelyn Huff (Jimmy); grandchildren, Bradley Moore Tilghman (Nancy); Laura Frances Allmon (Daniel); Justin Griffin Tilghman (Erin); John David Tilghman (Leigh Ann), Dale Cockrell, Leanee Hubbard (Billy), Jim Huff; and ten great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

A graveside service will be held at Mound Cemetery on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations can be made to the Deer Creek Baptist Church.
