The second River City Toy Swap event is coming to Vicksburg, serving as a precursor to the larger River City Toy Fest slated for February. The event promises a walk down memory lane, with a variety of toys from different eras available for attendees to buy, sell, or trade.
Event organizer Chris Burks assures attendees will find themselves immersed in nostalgia at the event. “Things you had as a kid, things you might not have had as a kid but wanted, you’re going to see a lot of that and it’s going to bring back a lot of memories from your youth,” Burks said.
The Toy Swap will host multiple vendors, with vendor spots available for $50. An additional space can be acquired for an extra $25. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own toys for trading. In addition to toys, the event will feature comic books and video games, adding more options for collectors and enthusiasts.
Admission to the event is free, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Jacob’s Ladder Learning Center, a local institution dedicated to helping children with unique learning needs. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sep. 16.
