A former paramedic in Mississippi has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for sexual assaulting patients that were en route to the hospital, WAPT reports.

James Lavelle Walley, 57, of Leakesville, pleaded guilty on May 9 to two counts of touching a child for lustful purposes and three counts of sexual battery. He was sentenced on Monday by Circuit Judge Robert Krebs to a mandatory 40-year sentence sentence.

From earlier reports, Walley also raped a pregnant patient who miscarried hours later.
