Expect traffic issues this weekend if you are in Jackson

If you are planning on being in the Jackson metro area this weekend, you can anticipate lane closures and significant delays on the Interstate due to ongoing construction and replacement of the I-20 Bridge.
The closures will impact two sections of roadway:

The first impact will be on I-20 eastbound and will be between the railroad and the Gallatin Street overpasses.  The second will be for I-55 northbound. This will be between Terry Road and Gallatin Street. The on-ramp at Terry road to I-20 east will also be closed.

The closures are set to begin at 4 a.m. on Saturday, May 15. The roads are scheduled to be reopened at 6 a.m. on Monday, May 17.
