The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency issued a statement Sunday morning about a letter, allegedly from the Mississippi governor’s office, that has been circulating on the internet and various social media platforms.

Misleading information is commonly promoted on the internet and shared by well-meaning people who fall into the trap. Officials encourage fact-checking posts with reputable sources before sharing to avoid contributing to misinformation.

The latest executive orders can be accessed anytime on the Secretary of State’s website.  The current guidelines are scheduled to stay in place until Monday, Oct. 5.

Vicksburg Daily News receives near daily updates from Renea Eze, communications director for Gov. Tate Reeves, and continually publishes the latest information to keep our readers in-the-know.

In addition, local officials in Vicksburg and Warren County have issued guidance that is in line with the governor’s declarations.
