Kelsi Lee Oneal, one of the residents, stated she was able to hear the tree beginning to give way, just before it came crashing through the roof.

I heard something and I opened the back door to look and it was coming down over me,” stated Oneal, “As I started to run it was coming through the trailer.”

No one sustained injuries from the incident, though Oneal states she was close to the area when the tree came crashing down.

The home is reported to be a total loss. Damages were sustained in the kitchen, master bedroom and master bathroom. Irreplaceable and sentimental items were also lost.

For now, the family has taken shelter in a hotel and is still coming to grips with the situation.

We are just taking it as we go. We are in a motel till the 6th then we go from there,” stated Oneal. “We are still in so much shock that we are trying to figure out our next step. We did have insurance thank goodness,” she added.

A gofundme page has been setup by Heather Griffin, who experienced a similar incident, to help the family. Any support that could be given to our neighbor in the way of monetary help or donations would be welcome.
