Falling Temperatures Creating Hazards Once Again

As night has fallen on the river city, and temperatures have again fallen below freezing, roads are becoming hazardous in many areas.
Law enforcement is reporting that black ice is creating situations that can cause you to lose control even at low speeds.
City, County and State road crews continue to work in shifts to remove limbs and debris that continues to fall. Utility crews are continuing to work across the region and power is being restored continuously.
The various water systems are all reporting more customers coming back online each hour. Officials are asking businesses that have not done so to check your buildings and surrounding property for leaks and report any issues. It is believed that Fire suppression systems in several areas of the city that were leaking and were a major contributing factor to the city’s water issues.
Please continue to use caution when traveling. Temperatures should rise to near 50 tomorrow and much of the icy mix should dissipate.
