Fatal crash reported in Claiborne County

On Tuesday, Oct. 4, at approximately 11:54 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Highway 61 near Port Gibson in Claiborne County.

A Toyota Camry driven by 64-year-old Isaac P. Colenberg Sr. of Fayette, MS, traveled south on Highway 61 and collided head-on with a northbound Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Mr. Colenberg died as a result of his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the F-150 was transported to Merit Health Hospital in Vicksburg with non-life threatening injuries.

This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
