Fatality reported in Claiborne County Natchez Trace accident

An accident between an automobile and a motorcycle on the Natchez Trace this afternoon has resulted in a fatality.

Just after 4 p.m. Saturday, Claiborne County requested assistance from Warren County for an accident with injuries near mile marker 26 on the Natchez Trace between Fayette and Lorman.

Warren County firefighters including Fire Coordinator Jerry Briggs responded, and first responders report that one person has died on the scene.

Claiborne County Coroner J. W.Mallett is on his way.

The accident is under investigation by National Park Service rangers and the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office.
