FEMA approves State Request for Extension

The Federal Emergency Management Agency approved a request by the Mississippi Emergency Management agency for an extension in filing for federal assistance for the ice storm in February.
Thirty-three counties and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians have damages due to the storms that impacted the state from February 11 through February 19. $1.9 million in residential damages, $784,000 in commercial damages and $22 million in public damages have been documented thus far.
The extension gives the state until April 6 to submit the request. Warren County has already submitted their assessments and information.
